- Scope and Contents note
- The letters are primarily addressed to his mother, commencing with one written during his boat passage through the Suez and arrival at Mombassa, dated 11 April 1903 and ending with a copy of a telegram from the East Africa Syndicate, announcing the he was on his way home, dated 5 Mar. 1904. The letters provide a detailed account of a hunting expedition northwest of Lake Rudolf.
