- This series consists of field notebooks and notes of several geologists, most of whom were working for the United States Geological Survey (USGS). Notebooks kept by Victor H. Barnett, Carpel Leventhal Breger, Herdman Fitzgerald Cleland, Gilbert D. Harris, Leopold Reinecke, Ira Sayles, and Gilbert Van Ingen resulted from field work in association with Henry Shaler Williams' study of New York and Maine fossils for the USGS (see Record Unit 7238). Also included are specimen lists.
