Field, Western China and Japan Telegraph Company, Washington, D.C., regarding the undesirability of having the Island of Attu as the mid-point for the Pacific Cable, 2/19/1873; Twenty-page report on the 1873 expedition, n.d.; To Baird supporting one Captain Bryant and opposing Henry W.
