Scope and Contents
Portrait of potter Faye Avatchoya (Hopi-Tewa) shaping a bowl from raw clay using part of a dried pumpkin shell. Tools on the table include a rubbing stone and other two pumpkin shells. The small container on the table contains moist clay. At her home in Tewa Village, on top of First Mesa, above Polacca in Arizona. Part of the study "Pueblo Life and Work" shot by the Carters in 1973.
