Scope and Contents
This subseries includes slides, negatives and photographic prints taken during various trips made by the Carters to examine and photograph petroglyphs in northwestern Nevada and Arizona between February and November of 1971. This includes slides, negatives and photographic prints in both black and white and color. The Carters began in February in Verdi proceeding on to Pyramid Lake. In March they photographed petroglyph sites on the Paiute Reservation as well as sites on the Southern end of Dry Winnemucca Lake including Paul Bunyan's Corral They returned to Pyramid Lake in April also recording the Grimes Site near Fallon. In May they continued on to Monument Valley and Mystery Valley in Arizona. The Carters we The Carters returned to Winnemucca Lake and the Pyramid Lake areas between November and December of 1971.
