Scope and Contents
The Bureau of Indian Affairs series includes material generated by the BIA and Dept. of Interior, as well as documentation of NCAI's interactions with the Bureau, such as correspondence, memoranda, press releases, publications, and speeches. Of particular note are records regarding individuals who were nominated to serve as Commissioner of Indian Affairs and Assistant Secretary of the Interior, as well as records dealing with the proposed reorganization of the BIA in the 1970s. This series is only partly processed. Three boxes have been processed, while nine remain unprocessed.
