- Scope and Contents
- This subseries consists of marketing materials for pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter products, such as brochures, flyers, packaging inserts and reports. The brochures describe the use, properties and recommended dosages of the pharmaceuticals. Because the materials were intended for physicians, most are written using detailed medical terminology. There are examples of colorful and visually interesting brochures featuring people and reproductions of famous paintings. The materials are arranged alphabeticaly by product name. If the materials are in a language other then English, it is noted parenthetically. The Bayer Company of Leverkusen, Germany, produced most of the brochures that date from the 1930s. It marketed its products to all European, South American, and Asian countries. Any brochures in English produced by Bayer Leverkusen were marketing German Bayer products in England.
