Some cards are stamped on the verso "Given Feb. 28, 1938 / by Wm. S. Appleton," and Feb. 28 in other years, from 1928-1947. One is labeled "Gift of Mrs. Foster Stearns / 28 July 1930."

Scope and Contents
Forty-six images of unidentified landscapes, some of which also include groups of people. Features include waterfalls, fields, trees, mountains, lakes, rivers, an island, etc. Many cards are by unidentified photographers, but others were photographed and/or published by Edward and Henry T. Anthony, Charles Bierstadt, E.T. Brigham, G.W. Wilson, Aberdeen (a view of "Ben Lomond, from near Tarbet"), Whitney & Zimmerman, S. Towle, Geo. M. Stone, Haines, H.F. Preston, J.W. & J.S. Moulton, Miller & Brown, and Julius Hall.
Restrictions
Unrestricted research use on site. Photographs must be handled with white cotton gloves, unless protected by plastic sleeves.
