Scope and Contents
The Control Department Records consist primarily of typescript and handwritten reports/internal memos for various preparations (tablets and fluids) manufactured by Parke, Davis. The reports detail the composition of a certain drug, manufacturing details, price lists, articles, and testing information. The reports/memos are arranged broadly into categories such as solids and powdered extracts, pills, and tablets and within each category it is arranged alphabetically by the name of the drug. Many of the reports/memos are stamped with the names "Miss Burnham," presumably a secretary and "Leon C. Fink," presumably a superintendent. This series also consists of circulars, notices mailed to companies, druggists, pharmacists, and individuals. Included are schedules for finishing numbers for lots of pharmaceuticals, instructions, materials published by the Scientific Department of Parke, Davis and reprints of articles from journals.
Collection Restrictions
Collection is open for research but is stored off-site and special arrangements must be made to work with it. Contact the Archives Center for information at [email protected] or 202-633-3270.
