- Scope and Contents
- Note: MBS copied many of Hare's slides for the Islamic Archives but this collection represents Hare's original slides and the notes he kept about the sites and his visits. Hare donated it to the Freer subsequent to the MBS donation and it is not included in the 1983 inventory of the Smith Islamic Archives. The Notes were contained in loose leaf notebooks or in envelopes. The original order of the notes and miscellaneous loose items is retained. The notes include information from published sources, maps, newspaper clippings, commercial photographs and dated comments about visits made by Hare and photographs he took.
