- Scope and Contents
- Moremi was an indigenous of the local people of Ife when the "peoples from the north" (presumably led by Oduduwa) invaded the Ife area. She assisted the leader of the invaders (Oduduwa) and was rewarded by becoming the wife of Oduduwa. The well is a memorial located where Moremi "sank into the earth at her death."
