- Original title reads, "Visit of the Eze (roughly meaning 'chief') of the Igbo communities of Arochukwu, a ways south of Afikpo to Afikpo. There are important Afikpo of Arochukwu descent, some of whose ancestors were involved in the slave trade in former times. And there are shrines at Afikpo associated with the Arochukwu (often called Aro) peoples. My field assistant in white shirt, Tom Ibe and other man, Mr. Ita, waiting the arrival of the Arochukwu chief and ensemble." [Ottenberg field research notes, September 1959-December 1960, Part I].
