- Scope and Contents
- Text on front reads: "DAKAR - Vue de la Rade - "Le Burdigala". Collection A. Chaussende, Dakar."
- Translated postcard caption reads, "DAKAR - View from the wharf - "Le Burdigala"."
Marcel."
- Translated handwritten text on verso reads, "There is a lot of animation here in both the harbor and the city, which is very commercial. Life is very expensive but little matter because we live on board. Poor uncle Charles had come another time here, to Conakry also. There are a lot of Europeans and at noon there are as many people outside as in the evening. It's true that it's winter in France, here one wouldn't say so! But it's very comfortable. I hope that you are well, and Papa also. Affectionate kisses and I love you a lot, Marcel."
