- Additional handwritten text on verso reads, "Dakar est une grande ville, très bien construite et ou les magasins sont tres bien achalandés. Il fait assez chaud et le port du casque est obligatoire. En ce moment on décharge 1800 tonnes de marchandises destinées a Dakar. Tout le monde est occupé et affairé malgré le soleil. Il n'y a en somme que moi qui ne fasse rien. Je suis répondant chargé de la poste. Nous partons dans 5 jours pour Kaolack et Conakry et plus bas vers le sud. Je vous dirai plus tard dans un ou deux jours ce que nous ferons."
- Translated handwritten text on verso reads, "Dakar is a big city, where shops are well-stocked. Weather is warm and helmet is compulsory. At the moment we are unloading 1800t. of marchandise for Dakar. We are all busy but me who is assigned to the mail. In five more days we will leave for Kaolack, Conakry, and further south. I will let you know more in one or two more days."
