- Original caption reads, "BULAWAYO. SHANGANI MEMORIAL." On Verso, "THE SHANGANI MEMORIAL stands in a prominent position on the eastern side of the World's View. The height of the monument is about 33 feet and each side has a measurement of about 24 feet across. The sides are ornamented with panels measuring 15 feet by 7 feet, the designs showing various groups of Major Alan Wilson and other members of the noble band who died for their country on the Shangani River."
