J'ai bien regretté de n'avoir pas eu le plaisir de se voir lors de mon passage à Bruxelles. J'espère bien avoir plus de chance une autre fois. Tout le monde va bien ici à Gand. Paula et petite Anne sont en vacances chez Papa et Maman, tu comprends leur joie! Vincent vient tous les soirs. Edmond est à La Haye depuis huit jours, il y a rejoint Jean de Lanier et il s'amuse très bien. J'espère que vous vous portez bien et vous envoie d'affectueux baisers. Léon me charge de ses meilleurs souvenirs."
Translated message reads: "Affectionate wishes to you all! I am really sorry not to have the pleasure of seeing you during my visit to Brussels. I do hope to be lucky another time. Everybody is well here at Gand. Paula and little Anne are on vacation at Papa and Maman's, you imagine their joy! Vincent comes every evening. Edmond is at The Hague since the last eight days, he joined Jean de Lanier there and he is having a lot of fun. I hope you are all well. I send you affectionate kisses.
