Finnish Music with Presenter Paula Hirsto, Field researcher Gordon Tracie - 1st song: Tune from Ostrobothnia (City in Finland), performed by three musicians. - 2nd song: A finnish "Polska". - 3rd song: Introduction of the Kântele, in English the Table Harp (the national instrument of Finland), one of the oldest string instruments. Then, a modern Karelian (from the Republic of Karelia, which influenced Finnish folk music) song is played by Hannu Syrjälahti. - 4th song: "Karelian Ballad" played in a Finnish folk style by Hannu Syrjälahti. The song tells the story of a woman who just got married but is weeping because her husband is not tender with her. - 5th song: "Finnish Polka" played by Finnish fiddler Tuuri Niskanen and Swedish fiddlers Lars Olov Moraeus and Jonas Borgmastars. Opening of the second program : Sweden - 6th song: "Ganglat fran Dalarna" (Walking Tune from Dalarna), with fiddlers playing the traditional folk instrument of sweden : The Fiddle Last Song
