Short Hills -- Hostetter Garden
Object Details
- General
- This project involved creation of a flagstone patio, starting with removal of overgrown yews and hedges. The patio incorporated a fountain and small pool, azalea borders, and views across a lawn to the surrounding trees. A large tree adjacent to the fountain and pool was removed several years after completion of the project, casting the entire patio into direct sun. Images cover the period 1966-1977 and show the evolution of the site.
- Persons associated with the garden include: Lois W. Poinier (garden designer, ca. 1966) and Amos Barr and Leola Elizabeth Conroy Hostetter (former owners).
