Ridgefield -- Clark Garden
Object Details
- General
- There was no garden and only an aged, fire-damaged farmhouse in 1979 when the owners bought the property. They restored and expanded the house, resurrected the swimming pool, and started a garden without plans, experience or many skills. A brick patio and walkway were built from bricks found on the property. The house is surrounded by huge beds of perennial flowers interspersed with annual flowers, in an informal style, and there are more flower beds as the garden designer wanted every perennial that would grow in full sun, part sun and shade. There is a vegetable garden between the swimming pool and the barn. There are stone benches and pots of flowers on the patio. Mature trees were saved and some of the property was planted with grass. Persons associated with the garden's design: Donna Clark.
