- Harold Weston began his painting of the building of the United Nations buildings in New York City in 1949. Found are all materials relating to the painting within the Harold Weston papers including clippings; a list of members belonging to the Committee for the Gift to the United Nations of Harold Weston's Painting Building the United Nations; correspondence, much of which relates to fundraising for the donation of the paintings; financial and fundraising materials; an interview with Weston by Mary Ellen Thomson concerning the paintings; legal documents; photographs including installations, black and white, color and matted photos of the works, and research and reference photos; proposals and estimates for donation; and a proposal for "Voices of Destiny," a U.N. documentary.
