- Harold Weston served as Chairman of the Keene and Essex County chapters of the Committee to Defend America by Aiding the Allies (CDA.) The CDA promoted the idea that America should support Britain financially in order to avoid entering the war. Records found in this subseries include correspondence between the National Committee of the CDA, Harold Weston, and others; clippings; financial records; meeting minutes and records; newsletters and bulletins; notes; a petition; printed materials; typescripts of statements and speeches given to promote the CDA, some of which have notes by Weston; suggestions from the National Committee for local chairmen; and miscellany.
