Scope and Contents
There are four bound travel diaries and one diary comprised of loose pages. Three diaries hold detailed accounts of Walinska's trip around the world from 1954-1955, during which she traveled to many countries: Japan, China, Myanmar (formerly Burma), India, Pakistan, Greece, Italy, France and Spain, among other places. The diaries also mention progress on paintings and mentions people sitting for portraits. The fourth bound diary is about a 1962 trip to Israel. The disbound diary chronicles a 1973 trip to Trinidad.
Collection Restrictions
Use of original papers requires an appointment and is limited to the Archives' Washington, D.C., research center.
