- Scope and Contents
- Client and collector files include materials the Spanierman Gallery used to track potential buyers and collectors interested in various works, as well as consignors and sellers of artworks through the Gallery. Clients include individuals, companies, museums and other galleries, and historical societies. Some files include a collection of artworks from an individual or family estate that may contain appraisals and condition reports. Scattered notes and correspondence, auction tracking, research, and information forms are included. Sold files were kept by the Gallery, particularly in the late 1990s, with minimal documentation denoting a work had been sold through the gallery, arranged by client last name or gallery name.

- This collection is open for research. Access to original papers requires an appointment and is limited to the Archives' Washington, D.C. Research Center.
