- Files for artists consist of born-digital video and audio recordings, website images, documents, and other material related to the artists; three sound and one video recording; correspondence; resumes; photographs and slides of artwork; biographical information on artists; notes by Rubin describing artwork and exhibitions; and printed materials. The correspondence reveals Rubin's professional, and often personal, relationships with the artists.

- Use of original papers requires an appointment and is limited to the Archives' Washington, D.C., Research Center. Use of archival audiovisual recordings and born-digital records with no duplicate copies requires advance notice.
