Scope and Contents
Journals include sound recordings that document Hughes' travels throughout Asia and Europe in the 1970s and 1980s, including Tokyo, Barcelona, Leningrad, and Venice. While in Tokyo in 1987, Hughes was interviewed by Peter Graves and Michael Heyward. Also included are journal excerpts from the circa 1970s that document Hughes' personal life, including his experimentation with illicit drugs.

This collection is open for research. Access to original papers requires an appointment and is limited to the Archives' Washington, D.C. Research Center.
