A talking drum with mallet, but the mallet with the drum is not the mallet shown in the photo. The drum has a light leather top and bottom with a dark leather cord wrapped around the top and bottom as a rim. Strung from the top to the bottom are pieces of twisted animal hide. One side of the twisted animal hide strings have broken. The interior of the drum is made of painted wood. There is a carved diamond pattern in bands on the wood. The shape of the wood appears as two cones connected to one another by a thin cylinder. There is a bow made from leather tied around the interior wood. There is something inside the the drum that enhances the sound by making a rattling noise. Attached to the bottom dark leather band, there is a frayed green string that functions as a carrying strap. The mallet has a piece of leather attached at the top nad bottom. The top of the mallet is chipped.
