- Description
- This Soil Conservation Issue stamp was issued as a tribute to the farmers and ranchers who use soil and water conservation methods, such as contour farming or terracing, crop rotation, windbreaks and run-off ground cover. These practices protect against the vital nutrients found in soil and prevents erosion. The stamp depicts a modern farm, with a house, barn, other farm building and cows grazing in an enclosure. The landscape includes a pond, field, trees, and a city skyline in the distance.
