- This World Forestry Congress Issue stamp commemorated the Fifth World Forestry Congress, which met in Seattle, Washington from August 29-September 10, 1960. The meeting was sponsored by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Participants, including over sixty countries, gather to discuss topics such as forest conservation, management and policies. The stamp features the official seal of the Congress, which include a globe and a tree, with smaller images of a deer, a waterfall, tree stump with an axe, a hiker and a sheep.
