- Description
- 10-cent Confederate Jefferson Davis stamp (Scott #11), tied by "Albany, Ga. Jan 2 1864" circular datestamp on envelope addressed to Starkeville, Georgia.
- The stamp was printed by Archer & Daly, a company based in Richmond, Virginia, that also engaged in work for the Treasury Department. Frederick Halpin, a former employee of the American Bank Note Company, engraved the steel plate-printed stamp of Jefferson Davis. Earliest known cancellation is April 21, 1863.
