Smithsonian Folklife Festival Closed June 30 Due to Storms
All Smithsonian Museums and the Zoo Will Open on Time

The Smithsonian Folklife Festival will be closed Saturday, June 30, due to damage to tents and other structures from the storms that came through the Washington, D.C., area the night of June 29. Members of the public should avoid entering the Festival site while staff assesses the situation.
The Festival is anticipated to reopen tomorrow. The Festival’s evening concert honoring Worth Long will take place at 6 p.m. in Baird Auditorium at the National Museum of Natural History.
All Smithsonian museums will open on time; the National Zoo will open at 10 a.m.
