National Portrait Gallery’s Teen Council Hosts Paint Ball
The Teen Council for the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery will host its first annual “Paint Ball” Thursday, March 27, in the museum’s Robert and Arlene Kogod Courtyard. The free event will take place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. An event for teens and organized by teens, the semi-formal occasion is for students in grades nine through 12.
Attractions include dancing, a DJ, interactive dance activities with a teen troupe from Dance Place-DC, free food, arts and crafts and a photo booth. Teen photographers will capture highlights of the evening. The official hashtag for the evening will be “#NPGPaintBall,” and the official hashtag for the Teen Council is “#NPGteens.”
Admittance is free. A valid student ID card will be required for entry.
Teen Council
Founded in 2014, the Teen Council for the National Portrait Gallery seeks to create teen-centered events and activities in order to attract teens in the D.C. Metro area to the museum. Their mission is to inspire a passion for art and history among their peers and promote the Portrait Gallery as a youth-oriented space.
