Hannah Wood
Eriauchenius milajaneae (pictured above) is one of the 18 new species of pelican spiders from Madagascar described by the scientists. This species was named after Wood’s daughter, and is known only from one remote mountain in the southeast of Madagascar. Wood made a field expedition to this mountain to find this spider in 2008 but was unsuccessful. So far, this species is only known from two females and one juvenile held in museum collections.
