Beginning on April 15, museum-goers can visit the “Rex Room,” a 1,830-square-foot interim exhibition, which offers visitors the unique opportunity to see staff members unpack, catalogue, photograph and 3D scan the 66-million-year-old bones of the Smithsonian’s new Tyrannosaurus rex. The Nation’s T. rex arrived at the National Museum of Natural History on April 15, and will be the centerpiece of the museum’s new 31,000-square-foot dinosaur and fossil hall, which is slated to open in 2019.
