A source Bible from which Thomas Jefferson’s private text, The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth—colloquially known as the Jefferson Bible—was culled in part. Jefferson pulled from the Four Gospels of the New Testament in Greek, Latin, French and English and the text has been meticulously conserved at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. It will be on display in the museum’s Albert Small Documents Gallery from November 11, 2011 – May 28, 2012.
