The National Museum of American History will reopen to the public Friday, May 21, after being closed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The museum will open Fridays through Tuesdays with reduced hours between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., with the last entry at 3 p.m. Health and safety measures for visitors and staff are in place, including requiring all visitors to reserve a free timed-entry pass and to wear a face covering for the duration of their visit, including children over the age of 2.
No formal program or remarks are scheduled for May 21; museum staff will be on hand for one-on-one interviews.
Safety: While at the museum, all media and visitors will be required to wear face coverings and follow all new procedures, including social distancing and visitor flow.
