Diana Movius, founder and artistic director of Moveius Contemporary Ballet and choreographer-in-residence at the National Portrait Gallery, will debut “Marquee,” an original contemporary ballet inspired by the exhibition “Star Power: Photographs from Hollywood’s Golden Age by George Hurrell.” The exhibition celebrates the glamour and timelessness of Hurrell’s iconic 1930s and 1940s portraits of Hollywood’s greatest stars.
“Marquee” offers audiences a fresh perspective by peeling back the glittering facade of stardom to reveal the sweat, retakes and chaotic mischief behind every flawless performance. With playful precision and a wink of vintage sparkle, the ballet fuses vintage allure with modern mischief—because even Hollywood legends need a retake or two. Admission to the performance is free. Registration encouraged.
Media can RSVP to Gabbie Obusek at [email protected]. RSVP required for film and interview requests.
