As the 2000 Presidential election hung in the balance for weeks, many citizens learned there is no national voting standard and called for sweeping reforms. This exhibition provides an overview of the evolution and progression of voting techniques and examines the varied voting processes used today in various parts of the country. Objects on view include numerous voting machines and a variety of ballots, including the butterfly ballot, with its hanging chads, used in Palm Beach County, Florida. Several interactives are also included.
