An updated version of this exhibition went on view when the museum reopened Nov. 21, 2008. These showcases trace the development of sports inventions from drawings and prototypes to final products. Objects include the skis and tennis rackets invented by Howard Head and an accessible snowboard for the disabled, currently under development by student inventors at Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass. Presented by the Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation.
