On March 21, 1965, more that 3,000 demonstrators began a five-day march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, to bring national attention to the continuing struggle to register African Americans to vote. This showcase features clothing worn by Selma marchers, a voter registration manual, and photographs to mark the 40th anniversary of this historic march and the passage of the 1965 Voting Rights Act.
