The Road Transportation Hall offers a look at the evolution of American carriages, automobiles, cycles, trucks, buses, and motorcycles. These objects show the ways in which Americans have traveled on roads, carried goods, and enjoyed road sports from the 18th century to the present. The oldest vehicle on display in the hall is a two-wheeled, two-passenger chaise of 1770 from New England. Other highlights include:

  • a Conestoga wagon
  • a Concord wagon
  • the 1893 Duryea
  • the 1894 Haynes
  • a 1913 Model T Ford
  • a Tucker prototype
