Examine the lives of 37 famous American expatriates who left a mark on England's history by choosing to live there.

Included are portraits of Benjamin West, Robert Fulton, John James Audobon, the Astors, James Abbott McNeill Whistler, John Singer Sargent, Ezra Pound, T.S. Elliot and American women who married English nobility—Mary Leitner (Lady Curzon), Consuelo Vanderbilt (Duchess of Marlborough) and Nancy Langhorne (Lady Astor)

Among the 150 notable objects are Lady Curzon's peacock gown, a golden bowl given to Henry James by friends, a silver cup designed by Benjamin West and Audubon's bird rifle.
