On view are paintings, prints, drawings, photographs, and sculpture acquired for the permanent collection, including a self-portrait by Titian Ramsey Peale; a self-portrait sculpture by Grant Wood; a hand-colored lithograph of Osceola (Black Drink) by George Catlin; gelatin silver prints of Gloria Swanson and Paul Cadmus by George Platt Lynes; and other works by artists Harrison Fisher, Sarah Yuster, Francis Bicknell Carpenter, and Alice Neel. Portraits of Jenny Lind, Fannie Lou Hamer, Arturo Toscanini, Bill Clinton, and Saul Bellow are also on view.
