Lawrence Gussman was actively involved with charitable works in central Africa for more than 30 years, and his involvement with the peoples of this region inspired him to collect African art. The Gussman collection includes rare and important masks, figures, musical instruments, decorated vessels and weapons. The exhibition highlights Gussman's gift to the museum and include 75 objects representing 30 African cultures.
