(De la Colección de Arte Popular de Regenia A. Perry El jardín de la imaginación de Derek Webster)

Derek Webster (1934-2009) created sculptures from scraps of wood, trash, and found materials, and adorned them with costume jewelry and brightly colored house paint. Born in Honduras and raised in Central America, Derek produced many of his works for the yard of his south side Chicago home where he eventually settled. His work can be found in museums and collections nationally. This exhibition consists of 9 pieces created between 1980–1996 from the Regenia A. Perry Folk Art Collection within the Smithsonian’s Anacostia Community Museum’s folk art collection.
