This exhibition examines the evolving role of the First Lady and presents a new understanding of the demanding responsibilities of presidential wives and hostesses. The three main sections encompass some 300 campaign and personal items and more than 500 illustrations and photographs. The restored First Ladies' gowns are the featured centerpiece.
