Photographs, garden benches, and urns are used to document how 5 gardens appeared at the beginning and the end of the 1900s and how they evolved over time. Gardens featured in the exhibit are Shirley Plantation in Richmond, Virginia; Thornewood in Tacoma, Washington; Beacon Hill in Newport, Rhode Island; The Moorings in Detroit, Michigan; and Weld in Brookline, Massachusetts.
