This country store was located in Headsville, West Virginia, from the 1860s to 1971, serving as a post office about half those years. Brought to the museum lock, stock, and barrel (staples and sundries of a bygone era still line the shelves), it again functions as an official post office. Stamps, including special issues, may be purchased here, and mail that is deposited receives a unique, hand-stamped "Smithsonian Station" postmark.
