- This image depicts Dizzy Gillespie standing and singing in front of a microphone at a civil rights fundraiser with Sidney Poitier, Harry Belafonte, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Holding his trumpet in his left hand, he grasps the microphone with his right. Wearing a dark pinstripe suit and heavy dark rimmed glasses, he stands straight with his head thrown back and mouth open. Stage lights and an indistinct figure with a saxophone can be seen in the background.
