Descriptive Entry: This accession consists of records documenting five Twitter accounts maintained by the Biodiversity Heritage Library Consortium (BHL). Headquartered at the Smithsonian Libraries and Archives, BHL is a consortium of major natural history, botanical, and research libraries that cooperate to digitize and make accessible the literature of biodiversity held in their collections as a part of a global "biodiversity commons." Twitter is a microblogging platform used by BHL to promote its collections, projects, and tools. Each of the accounts is represented by a snapshot in time captured at some point in April 2020, but may document earlier activity. Due to technical issues, accounts in this accession may be incomplete or content may not function as expected. Materials are in electronic format.
