Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of records which document major special events at the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI), such as the opening of the Cultural Resources Center, the groundbreaking ceremony for the NMAI building on the Mall, the NMAI Welcome Center opening, the Topping Out Ceremony for the NMAI building on the Mall, and the National Powwow in 2002. Also covered are events and receptions related to exhibition openings, the vernal equinox, festivals, and donors. Materials include correspondence; memoranda; agenda and schedules; picture postcards; color photographs and negatives; brochures; pamphlets; budget materials; guest lists; invitations; contact sheets; menus; and clippings. Some materials are in electronic format.
